ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPE,BETWEEN PHYSICALITY AND IMMATERIALITY,BETWEEN PRESENCE AND ABSENCE...

In Guangdong, China, There is Asia's largest black people community;whose quorum reaches at two thousand, and the total number is beyond three hundred thousand if coupled with illegal aliens. Some of them take refuge in China to escape war in their own country, some of them engaged in foreign trade clothing business in China, but they are always questioned and marjinalized due to various reasons. In order to provide a place to introspect soul and pray wish for these special populations, we proposed a so pure spiritual space and home churches that their wandering heart could be saved.

The base is located in a small North Road, YueXiu District of Guangzhou, which is the largest local black community, of which nearly half are Christians, while the religious discrimination is an important factor of identification between each other in the community. A church for spiritual introspection and rest will be constructed on the lake of the park, where the black constantly get together and have a rest in the east of the small North Road.

We'd like to construct a church, on light and image, the church is a light cross floating on the lake, while for people themselves, a image cross in heart is composed by the person in the pray room which insisted by 4 mirros and the mirror image. Then people disapear in the cross. Consequently, soul devout and religious totem reach highly unified and perfect fusion.
